Calibration-Free Approach to 3D Reconstruction Using Light Stripe Projections on a Cube Frame

چکیده
This paper presents a new approach based on light striping for reconstructing a 30 model from a real object. The proposed system consists of a light plane projector, camera and cube frame with LEDs attached. As in other light striping systems, the correspondence problem is solved by projecting light plane onto an object inside a frame. However, we use only cross-ratios and vanishing points to set up the world coordinates of the object, while the intrinsic and extrinsic parameters of the camera and the position of light source are not required. As such, the proposed system does not calibrate the camera and the light source. Furthermore, the computed 3 0 point data does not require any registration process because rhe data is directly measured based on unijied world coordinates. Experimental results proved the accuracy of the measurements and consistency of the outcomes without any knowledge of the camera and light source parameters.

Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) is a technology that creates three dimensional (3D) images of breast tissue. Tomosynthesis mammography detects lesions that are not detectable with other imaging systems. If image reconstruction time is in the order of seconds, we can use Tomosynthesis systems to perform Tomosynthesis-guided Interventional procedures. This research has been designed to study u...
متن کاملStructured-Light Sensor Using Two Laser Stripes for 3D Reconstruction without Vibrations
3D reconstruction based on laser light projection is a well-known method that generally provides accurate results. However, when this method is used for inspection in uncontrolled environments, it is greatly affected by vibrations. This paper presents a structured-light sensor based on two laser stripes that provides a 3D reconstruction without vibrations. Using more than one laser stripe provi...
متن کاملAdaptive Color Calibration Based One-Shot Structured Light System
In one-shot color structured light systems, the color of stripe patterns are typically distorted with respect to color crosstalk, ambient light and the albedo of the scanned objects, leading to mismatch in the correspondence of color stripes between the projected and captured images. In this paper, an adaptive color calibration and Discrete Trend Transform algorithm are presented to achieve hig...
متن کاملReal-Time 3D Profile Measurement Using Structured Light
The paper builds a real-time system of 3D profile measurement using structuredlight imaging. It allows a hand-held object to rotate free in the space-time coded light field, which is projected by the projector. The surface of measured objects with projected coded light is imaged; the system shows surface reconstruction results of objects online. This feedback helps user to adjust object’s pose ...
متن کاملConventional Voxel in Tomographic Reconstruction Based upon Plane-Integral Projections – Use It or Lose It?
Introduction: While the necessity of replacing voxels with blobs in conventional tomographic reconstruction based upon line-integrals is clear, it is not however well-investigated in plane- integral-based reconstruction. The problem is more challenging in convergent-plane projection reconstruction. In this work, we are aiming at utilizing blobs as alternative to voxels. <stron...
